2019 was an year for society

2019 was an year for society

It is rightly said that films show the reflection of the society and it is also said that films influence the minds of the people to a large extent, so it is not the question that films should be made or not, the real question of the hour is whether there is a need of creating good societal movies or not?

Let’s talk about the year 2019, the year 2019 has given us a lot of movies that are concerned with the society and how the filmmakers, as well as the actors, understood the need to influence and aware people of the same.

In January 2019, film URI: the surgical strike came and people loved the feeling of nationalism, the film was directed by Aditya Dhar

In February, a film based on homosexuality came up , lending cinema a wholly new idea which in India is less talk about, the film was named ‘Ek Ladki ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga’ starring Sonam Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Juhi Chawla, and other popular actors.

Then in june and july came 2 new outstanding movies, first article 15 and the second namely super 30

Article 15 had Ayushman Khurana in the main lead and if you ask for my opinion, the movie was the best for 2019. Ayushman Khurana as seen doing total justice to the role, the film was based on caste discrimination and crime.

Whereas super 30 was a movie based on the concept of unprivileged student’s education starring Hrithik Roshan in the main lead

Then in September, Richa Chadda and Akshay Khanna came up with the movie section 375 which was based on the rape victim and it won not only the tag of one amazing film but also the hearts of millions of people.

By the last in December,’ mardani 2′ came to box office earning 23 crores so far, and still setting the box office on fire,  starring rani Mukherjee in the main lead and directed by Gopi Pruthan .

And now if we talk about the start of the next year 2020, ‘chappak’ which sees Deepika in the min lead based on acid attack victim will come by January and in February Ayushman would be back with another movie that is based on homosexuality.

Now the question is, whether the Indian cinema is successful in delivering the concern or not?
